The Oversoul

Symbolic and Allegorical

Here are some images and quotations
that explore the deeper meaning
of the Oversoul

This image was created by a man named Alex Grey.  His speculations of what the oversoul is, are shown through this aesthetic and memorable image.  Representing that all things are the same and some way connected to each other, the oversoul reminds people of how beautiful being joined together can be.  Once people recognize and remember the oversoul, they will remember things from a long time ago that connect to the person that they have become today.

Created by JETGallery, this image shows how each individual looks and reaches up to one large, powerful figure for their needs.  This potent figure is that of the oversoul.  Even though each smaller figure in this image is a different color, size, and shape, they are all equal and linked to one another by the internal bond with which the oversoul provides.

Created by Hank Wesselman and Jill Kuykendall, this image portrays how the eye, or the 'I", is part of one prominent and essential soul.  Showing that personal transformation is a way of understanding how other individuals, as well as natural things, is a major concept that the oversoul provides.  Transcending yourself to comprehend how everything works together as one thing, is from where the personal, spiritual and influencial image of the oversoul will develop.  Each stroke of color works together to create this image of the transcendental oversoul.

This image was created by Ann Van Eps who designs fantasy art.  This picture shows the high and mighty oversoul shining down onto the world.  Just as the sun, the oversoul shines onto people allowing everyone to share a part of the same thing.  When the sun shines, everyone can indulge in its bright rays.  When a joined group acts upon a notion, it is the internal oversoul that makes that group powerful enough to act upon their feelings and be successful.

Created by Hank Wesselman and Jill Kuykendall, this illustration, shows the gathering of many figures around one prominent form.  They draw some sort of light from this form and it provides them with the sense of unity and togertherness.  The transcendental oversoul acts as the source of light with which these figures live off.  Light, stemming from the oversoul, draws this group together as one, united, equal and collaborating group.

Quotations

"We will walk on our own feet; we will work with our own hands; we will speak our own minds...A nation of men will for the first time exist, because each believes himself inspired by the Divine Soul which also inspires men."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

"As with events, so is it with thoughts.  When I watch that flowing river, which, out of regions I see not, pours for a season its stream into me, I see that I am a pensioner; not a cause, but a surprised spectator of this ethereal water; that I desire and look up, and put myself in the attitude if reception, but from some alien energy the visions come."
-Henrey More

"We see the world piece by piece, as the sun, the moon, the animal, the tree; but the whole, of which these are the shining parts, is the soul."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
